Blodeuwedd at Edinburgh! It'll be a hoot...
I am very excited to announce that Blodeuwedd Untold has been selected to be performed at the Edinburgh Fringe festival this summer as a supported show on the Regional Theatre Partnership Programme with Pleasance Futures and the Royal & Derngate Northampton. I am honoured and delighted! And already mentally and physically preparing myself for the marathon... 26 shows in 27 days. Pheweeee!
The show is still very much alive... shifting and emerging and evolving with each iteration in front of a new audience. I will be continuing to develop the show in collaboration with royal & Derngate over the next couple of months. But it will always be more than just a show... as anyone who works with myth knows, myth is very much alive and doesn't cope will with being straight-jacketed into a static shape. So, my challenge it to develop a form that is structured enough to provide a container for myself, the audience and the story, but flexible enough to allow the myth and me to breathe; to stay alive. Just as storytellers have always done, the aim is to bring the depth and magic of the ancient stories to the living, breathing audience in front of me.
But most importantly, stories and storytellers need listeners! Help me call the story forth by coming along, telling your friends and sharing the news widely! Tickets are already on sale here: https://www.pleasance.co.uk/event/blodeuwedd-untold#overview
